Implantogical treatment step by step

We are able to perform all surgeries in office: no hospital stay required. In order to create a stress free situation for our patients nearly 95 % of the surgical procedures are performed in analgosedation monitored by our anaesthesiologist.

Every patient is prescribed medication that supports the woundhealing process and helps minimize the risk of swelling, pain and infections.

After the surgery has been completed the patient will be able to wear specially made provisional dentures. The timeframe until the implants are osseointegrated and can be used for final restorations varies, depending on the individual bone structure and implant system used, we are usually talking two to six months.

In some cases we are able to load the implants with fixed provisional restorations immediately after surgery. In all other cases the coverscrew of the implant will be revealed in second stage surgery, usually performed with a laser, once the healing process has been completed.

Impressions are taken so that the lab technician can then fabricate the individual prosthesis.

A typical case will take about six months from the moment we started planning the individual treatment option until the actual completion of the final restoration. During this period of time the patient sees us for checkups, but has no discomfort or pain.

After the final prosthesis has been inserted in the patient’s mouth, the structure’s longevity very much depends on the compliance of the individual patient. Regular checkups (at least twice a year) and professional cleaning are mandatory. That way any complications can be detected early on, which ensures that a specialist can easily provide relief.
